This is what I've been up to...

And it's not much. :/ We went over the wedding budget again just to see how things are looking. And they are looking pretty darn good considering we originally only wanted to invite a small number of guests and are about 50 something over that. And for each person over  that of course adds more costs. More for their food, their bar costs, wedding favors (which I'm needing some help on I think), and then invites, rsvp cards, postage and so on! Thankfully our church can not hold more than 160. So we're pretty much capped at where we are. Oh thank god!

I finally (I know, I know, I know) sent the dj our must play songs for the wedding reception for when we are introduced, wedding party, our first dance, father/daughter dance, mother/son dance, cake cutting, garter toss, bouquet toss, final slow dance and the last song of the night. I said I was doing this before, but I got busy with something else so nothing got accomplished until now. We were even supposed to meet the dj on June 1st, but couldn't since we didn't email him his list! Oops!

And I've been reading tons of wedding websites and magazines and stumbled upon the best idea I've ever seen. I've talked to a couple of people about this already, but I'm not quite sure. It's about a groom's shower for Iggy since I will be having a bridal shower. They listed themed ones like where the men play poker and everyone brings poker and bar related gifts. Whether its poker chips, cards, or bar accessories or liquor as a gift. One where men barbeque and get bbq gifts. Sauces, accessories, whatever really. Well, I love the idea. I just need to mention it to the best man and see what he thinks. Iggy is up for it. He thought it was a great way to get to hang out with the guys before the wedding and not including the smaller bachelor party he will have. And at the groom's shower, no strippers. They can save those half naked girls for the bachelor party. :) The maid of honor thought it was neat and I'm waiting to her back from how her husband (a groomsmen in the wedding) feels about it. Grooms mom loves the idea. And another groomsman thought it was redundant.

Other than that, my flowers came in the mail! :) I love my paper flowers so much. I have not started bouquet making yet, but it doesn't look like something I am going to enjoy.

I also have ruled out the idea of the unity candle. I wanted something more original. And I have 2 options.

A lot of things are being kept a secret and I wish I could post them, but I can't for several reasons!
  1.  Someone already tried taking some of my ideas (that WILL NOT happen again)
  2.  I need to keep it a secret from most guests
  3.  Some items are a secret from the husband to be (like his wedding gifts)
I can give some details to some of you. More of you who are not coming can know more. Haha. :) But feel free to ask and I can see what I can or can't tell you!

  1. Umm, I'm going to need you to share with me. Our weddings are so different that you know I won't be stealing ideas, but I'm just naturally so dang curious. :)
