It's time to get serious!

I still have my list of to do items. I'm not feeling great about it. Only nine more days for the month are remaining and I dont think I've done anything. I have added items mentally to the list. But I will keep those for my August to do list!

Here's the list to remind you and myself!

    1. Finalize do play/do not play list for dj & email to him------>find a date to meet with him afterwards to discuss details!
    2. Find a time good for Reverend to meet with us to go over some of my ideas and his ideas to create a perfectly fit ceremony. This may not actually be meeting until August (I'm ok with that) but at least it's getting a time scheduled. Setting this date asap!
    3. Finish guest list for Cassie for bachelorette party and get the list emailed to her. -----> To do tonight!
    4. Delegate tasks (food, decorations, music, games, drinks) to the bridal party and Betty for the bridal shower (and yes, I'm a control freak and need to make sure everything is done how I'd like it to be).
    5. Get serious about Iggy's groom's shower: Invites. Guest list. Decide on food. Assign food. Register for men gifts. Figure out some more details.
    6. Honeymoon. Honeymoon. Honeymoon. Someone needs to be getting started on this.
    7. Rough draft of day of timeline for wedding day. We have plenty of time until then, but a rough draft is a great start.
    8. Decide who will be doing a reading during the ceremony (reading has already been decided upon).
Im working on my full to do list. It's too long to list here. I'll keep updating small tasks as completed! Even some soon to do DIY projects that I'm working on! :)

After a long and busy weekend!

As I had mentioned before, I had a very long weekend! I worked on Friday until 7pm and Saturday until 8pm at the Kentucky Speedway as a promotional girl for the Ultimate Tailgating Vehicle giveaway. I was hot and sweaty and my feet were worn out from standing so long and walking around too much. It was a nice and easy way though for some cash to be put towards the wedding! Yay. I should add that as an extra to the list each month to accomplish: Make extra money by any way possible to go towards the wedding. In August I think a yard sale would be great and appropriate to clear out junk and make more money to stash away!

I did get one and a half diaper wreaths finished (out of 3 total) that need to be done asap! But again, extra wedding money! Logan and Iggy got to see Cars 2. And I have a sun burnt face. That's about all that got accomplished.

As soon as I post this, I will be emailing the Reverend and scheduling a time to meet. I will mark it off of the list then since it will be finished in a few minutes. Well, to keep me accountable, I will stop blogging and email him now. Ok. It is finished. One items is done. Just waiting on his reply back! :)

For Iggy's shower, I asked the groomsmen and best man to  come up with some ideas. Men are not helpful. 1 did not reply (thank you Travis), and both Josh and Matt said to just tell them what to do and they will do it. I'm not throwing this alone. I'm helping out because, as we can already tell, nothing would get finished if they had to do it alone.

Kelli gave some great ideas for the bridal shower! I loved them all and can not wait. I just need to tell Betty about them too. I'm very excited about the shower. I think she should win the best maid of honor ever + best friend ever!

I also have decided who will do a reading at the wedding. My old roomie Patty. I miss her dearly and she doesn't live too far away but we haven't spent much time together at all. It's been since November 2009 since I have seen her. Now with her doing a reading, I will see her at the rehearsal and dinner also! Yay for that. I'm adding that one to the list so I have one other thing crossed off!
  3. Finish guest list for Cassie for bachelorette party and get the list emailed to her.
  4. Delegate tasks (food, decorations, music, games, drinks) to the bridal party and Betty for the bridal shower.
  5. Get serious about Iggy's groom's shower: Invites-done. Guest list-done. Food-decided upon, not assigned. Registered for men gifts-done.  Figure out some more details-not done. Not sure where to start on that.
  6. Honeymoon. Honeymoon. Honeymoon. Something needs to be getting started on this.
  7. Day of timeline for wedding day. We have plenty of time until then, but a rough draft is a great start.
  8. Decide who will be doing a reading during the ceremony (reading has already been decided upon).
The list does not look too intimidating now. I will finish the guest list tonight for the bachelorette party and email that to Cassie tomorrow since I keep all of my spreadsheets and guest lists on my computer at work. The one other task to cross off.

Tonight I will work on figuring out what tasks need to be done for the bridal shower and ask for the girls to pick what they are going to do. I hate that I'm not allowed to do it all though! I hate having other people do things for me!

One last thing I needed (wanted to do is more truthful) is post what theknot.com says I should be doing at this time. Another way for me to see how far behind I am. Here is what they have to say I need to do at the 4-5 month mark:

  • To-dos
  • Completed Items
  • All Items
  • Added by Me
  • Collapse
  • 4-5 MONTHS
  • 06/03/2011 - 08/02/2011'

More to come on those tasks at a later date.

Daily Update on Our Progress.

I think to keep me on track, I need to update daily or every couple of days on how we've been doing on completing tasks on my to do list for the month of July. I hope this keeps me accountable since I know there might just possibly be one person out there reading and making sure things are getting accomplished.

Well, one thing was accomplished last night: I found out that Iggy has no idea what the blog site is. He couldn't find it if he tried. He openly admitted it. I think it would be nice to have a guest post from him. I'm working on convincing him.

Now, on to the real things that need to be done:

  3. Finish guest list for Cassie fro bachelorette party and get the list emailed to her.
NOTHING. Lol. Nothing has been done. And we're still stuck at 7 to do's for this month with only 24 days left. Still giving us about 3 days per item. Tonight's task is working on emailing the officiant Reverend T Michael about meeting. That's an easy one and will give me more time to allocate towards the others.

I need that extra time. We just added another concert for the month of July: Goo Goo Dolls and Michelle Branch. So thats another evening not spent working on these very important 7 items! Ahhhh!Pin It Now!

Let's start setting goals to be accomplished for the month of July!

Besides concerts, family sleepovers, dinner parties, bridal showers and so on...we need to make a list of things I want to accomplish this month. Lets go:

  3. Finish guest list for Cassie fro bachelorette party and get the list emailed to her.
25 days left in this month with 7 tasks. I need to work on one task about every 3 days. As they get completed, I will update the progress. I hope it works out fine. Eeek!

On a side note, I love how another bride is doing their blog with the wedding budget info on it. Would she care to share some of that info? I think I'd like to include it. It's nice to see kind of what we're spending on what. i'm sure others want to know to. This will save them having to beat around the bush for that info!

:)

Now, my new favorite wedding obsession for the day:

I love this necklace! Ahhh.

I've been far too obsessed with Etsy for this wedding. I don't know how this is wedding related. But I want our names on the heart. our wedding date on the circle. :) Love it. See more ideas for it here: Hand Stamped JewelryPin It Now!

July 5, 2011

Is this enough to even be considered an update?

I figured it's time to post something even though I feel like I have nothing to post.

Two things we have decided on:
1. No morning after brunch. Not that it was given any real consideration. It's mainly for destination weddings or weddings with a lot of out of town guests (at least thats what I got out of it) so it's not something that would be suited for us to have.
2. Honeymoon will be a road trip that we will drive on December 3rd for awhile and stay somewhere & then wake up Sunday December 4th to finish the drive. Our total drive will be 10-15 hours away from home. This is something I'm very excited about because road tripping with Iggy is my favorite thing to do. I just don't know where yet. I have shot down all of his ideas so far. Maybe I will help plan this. I have been stuck in a wedding planning funk lately and can't seem to get motivated.

I did get to spend some time with bridesmaid Cassie on Monday. We went over some details. I have a deadline to get a guest list to her for the bachelorette party. We have figured out the games for the bridal shower (I know I'm not supposed to help plan it, but I have to have control over as much as I can or I don't know how I would feel about it). I am certain we discussed more but I did not take notes and she did. I do remember that she wasnt aware of the wedding blog.

Other than that, this summer has been pretty wedding planning free. I know I did all of the big stuff earlier this year which has really left me with just details and small things left to plan. I'm not interested in that. At all right now.We have a lot of plans coming up though! We have already seen Weird Al in concert in June. Then we are seeing 311 & Sublime and taking back Sunday & Thursday this month. And in august we both have the week before Iggy's birthday off and are trying to make plans to spend several days somewhere. And then we have Blink and My chemical romance to see in concert and Journey.

I feel like with all of that going on in the next month or so that it's ok If I take sometime off from planning, right?

And last, I want this. Well, to make something similar to this. I love it. And I need your donation of brooches to contribute.
