November 21, 2011

This weekend was so fun I'm still exhausted.

The title of this blog is not a joke. I have been at work for almost four hours and I still feel asleep. I have had two cups of ice water and half of a five hour energy drink, see:

And I'm still worn out. I got hardly no sleep Friday night at all, I fell asleep after 4 AM and woke up right before 8 AM! I napped on and off Saturday afternoon and went to bed around 2 AM Saturday night. Got up at 11 AM on Sunday, napped for about 3 hours, and went to bed last night around 2:30 AM and woke up at 7:15 AM this morning!

It was worth it though! I had more fun than I could have ever imagined! I have some fantastic ladies in my life and am so happy to have them around me! I got of work early Friday and met my bff/MOH Kelli to head to the mall at 11 on Friday morning. We shopped around for things she needed for my party that night. We went to Kroger and picked up some food and ate some amazing samples throughout the store. I had two spicy tuna rolls, chocolate chip cheeseball that I dipped gingerbread pita chips in (OMG amazing)

and some not so great cranberry something or another, I'm not a fan of cranberries so I had low expectations even trying it. And then last we had this cheese dip. It had red onions and other delicious ingredients in it. It was so good I bought it and took it to the bachelorette party. There is none left today since I consumed the last of it yesterday afternoon for lunch. Yum.

So now! My bachelorette party! Fun! When we got to the hotel, I showered while Kelli and Cassie were decorating the room. I came out to find a Wonder Woman super hero themed party, complete with capes and all! I was so surprised and excited over the theme, it couldn't have been more perfect for me!

This was the outfit I wore. I had to wear a white dress since I am the bride to be. Cassie made me my Wonder Woman headband, cape and cuffs. Honestly, I was hesitant about wearing it out because I thought I looked a bit crazy. Turns out that people love capes. Haha.

Our room number was 528 which is my birthday. We found it appropriate to take a photo of it.
Here are all of the wonderful women who came out to the party and the panties that represent them. I had to guess based off of the underware who brought them. I missed one but other than that, I did a great job! I am so happy to have so many new pairs of underware to wear for the honeymoon! Thank you all!

Yes, we all wore our capes. I love mine so much!

A group shot! Then the camera kept taking photos. The rest are hilarious! Haha.
My favorite photo of the night! While we were walking the bar, we were getting honked at and had to cross some pretty busy streets! Turns out, I can walk in heels.
This is after I may have had one too many drinks. I went on stage to ask the band to help me find a man in the bar with the same name as Iggy. Of course, a nice man lied so I could try and win the scavengar hunt challenge!

That it is for my photos of the party because the rest are a bit too much to show. I was lucky for Cassie to take so many pictures for me! Thank you again! We all had so much fun. And after we left the bar, we got a cab right back to the room (thank you to the nice cab driver to take us back for less than what we should have paid you). In the room we ate lots of food, but I dont remember that at all. And then Cassie fell asleep and Kelli and I laid in bed talking until she left super late in the night.

Cassie and I woke up bright and early, got our things together, I showered, and we straightened up the room and headed to breakfast. We had eggs, waffle, bagel, and juice. After that Iggy and Logan picked me up and we headed to Waffle House for Logan to have breakfast. I seriously had so much fun. I can't believe it was that great of a night!

Iggy's bachelor party was Saturday. Matt came over around 215 and Josh, Travis, and Adam showed up around 3. They left to go indoor go kart racing, do a food challenge at Bards Burger

and then spent the evening at the casino with cigars, gambling, and some drinks. He got home after 2 AM and we fell right asleep after he showered the cigar smell off of him! That was the only photo from the guys night out because Josh was the only one to take this single photo.

It was great and am so thankful that we both have so many people to have been able to share the night with!Pin It Now!

I know I have a wedding in 1 week, 4 days, 10 hours and 17 minutes, but I cant help myself.

I should be focusing on the wedding and our never ending list of to do items, but right now I'm more in the Christmas spirit than wedding spirit. I can't help it, as soon as Halloween is over (I know, a lot of people hate that some skip Thanksgiving, but I'm one that skips it) I go straight into Christmas mode. I have all of our indoor decroations up already except our large tree. Tonight I will be hauling it up from the basement and putting it up but we won't be decorating until Tuesday night when Iggy is home.

I spent all day yesterday watching Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel and ABC Family. I love Jenny Mccarthy so I had a great time watching both of her Santa Baby movies and then two very touching (yes, I cried) Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel. I have Christmas movies set to record as far out as our dvr will allow me at this time. Tonights plan? Watching Santa Paws with Logan! I've never seen it and he loves dogs so I'm pretty sure it's going to be a wonderful evening. I've already snuck in watching The Santa Clause with Logan and Iggy. Logan loved it and paid attention to the entire movie, which was his very first real life movie and not a cartoon.

We have all of Logan's shopping completed as well. It is nice to have it all done, but it's all finished at a late time in the year for me. I usually get his finished early so I have time to focus on all of the other gifts I need to get. I dont even have a list started of what to get who. I have a vague idea for a couple of people and that's it.

I've just really been thinking about the holidays this year and wanted to post about them. I'm also excited to celebreate Christmas Eve with my niece and nephew who I do not see very often. Logan really enjoys playing with them and they are coming over for the evening to eat dinner and open some presents at my house. I know Logan has been excited about it but more than anything, my niece Natalie has been talking about it since February! I really can't wait.

I've been trying to encourage no gifts for me and Iggy from each other mainly because we are spending so much on the wedding and then we are having the honeymoon. And we have so many expenses along the way that Christmas gifts seem crazy to get each one another at this point. Plus, I have a really great gift for him for the wedding that I hope he loves/wants/appreciates. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on that one.

It probably would be appropriate to have something in this post about the wedding, so here it goes. We have a long list of items we are doing tonight. I can't wait. We are finalizing our play/do not play songs for the reception and dinner. I'm getting out our suitcases and putting in our warm weather clothing and our passports and other items for the honeymoon. I'm going to do our slideshow (well as much of it as I can without adding music or the photos that Cassie took) for the rehearsal dinner. And no worries, we will not be having a slideshow at the wedding. I love them for everyones wedding, but I know that most people hate them and we figured it would be best if we didn't have one at our ceremony or reception. We are doing our first real seating chart since all guests have RSVP'd. I am going to assemble all church decorations that I have completed so far and prepare the rest of it to work on tomorrow while at work. That is a lot since we haven't done anything for awhile.

We are waiting on a large package for the guys shoes and Iggy's shoes. We got them black high top Converse to wear at the ceremony and reception as part of their present and we are waiting on Iggys Converse too since his are not sold in stores. And (not wedding related) I am still waiting on some nail polish I ordered over 5 business days ago. I chose 3-5 business day delivery so it should have been here by now. I wanted to wear it to my bachelorette party that was on Friday. I didn't get it by that night so I wore a pretty pink nail polish that Kelli let me borrrow.

Photo from here.
Next post? Of course a recap of the bachelor and bachelorette parties from this week. Warning though, that post my be a little bit photo heavy!Pin It Now!

Honeymoon. Honeymoon. Honeymoon!

I can not wait at this point! Look:

Yes, that's what I see when I log into view our honeymoon details. We will be going on a cruise out of Port Canaveral, Florida on December 4th and return home on December 8th. We are going to Freeport and Nassau. Neither of us have been on a cruise or to the Bahamas, so we are pretty much so excited that we can't even describe it.

I used the cruise as a great excuse to grab two dresses at JC Penney this weekend. One that I will use for the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner and then the other I will use for engagement photos #2.Pin It Now!

So much to keep up with. And I'm falling behind!

I have so many fantastic things to post about and have not found the time recently. I'm also going through some emotional and stressful things on top of the wedding planning that is making things a little more rough than usual.

Tonight, after Logan goes to bed will be another blogfest where I catch up on all that needs blogged about. I find it necessary, you may not.

But a friend's blog here and many friends on Facebook are posting daily in the month of November what they are thankful for. I think it is silly that we wait until the month of Thanksgiving to do so, but it gives me a feeling of hope at this point. That there's really more to be happy about than what I can think of at some of my most awful times lately. So, here I go.

November 1st- I am thankful to have such a wonderful soon to be mother in law. I went dress shopping with her on this day and got to spend some time picking things out for her while she helped me get zipped up in some honeymoon dresses. It was a nice day.

November 2nd- I'm thankful for all that Iggy has done and will ever do for me. I don't know if he even realizes how much of a help he is for me, but I will be forever thankful for him.

November 3rd- I'm thankful for the number of amazing people in our life who are in the wedding to celebrate with us. Thank you Kelli, Josh, Travis, Cassie, Bonnie, Matt, Chris, and Andrea. It means a lot to have each and everyone of you involved!Pin It Now!

Stuck on centerpieces!

We have everything major decided for the wedding. I dont think that there is another decision that needs to be made. Things just need to be completed that we have already decided to do. Everything but our centerpieces thats is. Our venue has some restrictions with candles, they must be enclosed in a candle holder bigger than the candle. So basically no open flame. I have some cute blue tealights I want to use. And some white ones that I could use. They have decent handle holders and round mirrors to sit things on. They also provide a giant tall or medium sized vase I could fill with my own decoration. They have some plain boring white fake flowers that I will end up getting stuck with.

So now the search begins. My goal is to figure out what we are going to do. Here are some ideas I'm fond of. And no, I will not be using flowers in the centerpieces.

These are paper flowers from Martha Stewart that have ornaments as the center! Love it! Seems easy to do!

These might be too tall, but I love the natural look of the branches.
I love Ikea and I love these. I just dont know how I would use them.
This wouldn't fit in with any theme or color that we have, but I think they are gorgeous. Haha.

But I'm so torn between ideas! Ahhh!Pin It Now!

I wouldn't even be able to think of a title.

Lots of things going on in my mind right now. And I can't do anything about it besides post all of it here. So sorry for those of you reading it!

The first thing is that I need a haircut. I've been working and trying so hard to grow it out until the wedding but it's been stuck at that hideous in between stage that I can't get out of. I have been wearing it in low teeny tiny pony tails or pigtails every day. I wore it down at the shower and saw the photos from it. I hate it even more! I've gotten to the point where I think I have just given up. This is why I need a haircut.
Do you see how long it is? Time for a cut. ASAP. And this is how I want it cut:

Just short than that though. It is very similar to my regular haircuts that I usually get, its just a photo to reference!

I think we have decided on part of the gift for Betty! I hope she likes them because I love pearls!

I also bid at an estate auction for this wonderful brooch to put on my bouquet. I needed my something old and this will work. I'm wearing pearls for the wedding and wanted something to match.

I like it. It's vintage and will work perfectly. Its not too bulky and is long enough to fit! I should be picking it up tonight! And it was super cheap! Less than $5. Score!

There are several other things I've been looking at online. Well so much that it's taken me this long to sort through my favorites. They are:

These fabulous DIY thank you notes. I thought at first I didnt have a use for them, now I do!

I have to make these. I have about 30+ wooden hangers in a spare bedroom closet we have never used! Time to make some good use out of them!Pin It Now!

Crafting for the bridal shower.

This post is overdue, thats for sure. I fully intended to post it last weekend and never got around to it. Friday before the shower I had Bonnie and Kell come over to finish up the crafting for the bridal shower.

On the to do list was:
  • Banner
  • Circle felt banner
  • Tags for favors
  • Centerpieces
We were very productive and got everything completed. We even had time to make two additional banners! Plus I made the stirrers for the hot chocolate bar that night after they left.

See! We got a lot completed that night! We were up until 1AM working very hard!Pin It Now!

I think this was a rant of some sort.

I feel like there is so much going on right now and I can barely focus on any of it. I have work, Iggy's work, Logan's school, the wedding, honeymoon planning, Iggy's school, trying to find a balance for us to spend time together as a couple and then also as a family, time to clean our house, the holidays are starting (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, the New Year), and then there's Mexico in February. And while all of this is going on around me, I am trying to figure out what I plan on doing after the wedding is over.

We keep going back and forth on whether or not to have baby number 2 after we are married. If so, we are thinking to start trying in March. The simple thought of that makes me nervous for more reasons than one.
  1. I'm ok with Logan being an only child
  2. No sleep. For a long time
  3. Gaining weight again :(
  4. Logan will be in school in August
  5. Iggy starts school full time in January
  6. My medicine won't work with a baby on the way
  7. $$$ babys are expensive $$$
  8. Do we have enough room?!?!?
  9. Daycare (even more $$$$$)
  10. And many more
Plus I have another change I want to make early, very early, in 2012: a new job! I shouldn't even post that while I'm typing the blog at my current job, but it's time. I feel like I'm stuck here because of the wedding. I can't just leave and make such a drastic change while we are planning the weddign. Plus I have to finish out the year since I already have my vacation planned for the honeymoon. With the new year starting, I was wanting to make a huge change. Sometime different. I want out of a call center, thats for sure. I'm unhappy every day I come in to this place. So its time, time for a change. My goal is to start applying for jobs in December and January. Find a new one by March. Not quite as early in the year as I'd like, but it gives me time!

So this post had nothing to do with the wedding. Oops. And none of the posts today will have much to do with the wedding. A few sentences here or there, but that is it. I have a lot to say today. Some catching up to do. And a lot of pictures I wanted to post. Get ready, the blogathon starts now.Pin It Now!

Oh the fun at my bridal shower!

First I want to thank everyone who came to the bridal shower this weekend. It was a lot of fun and I felt very loved to have so many people there to take part on such a special day. It really made me feel like I was getting married! Haha. I know it might sound silly, but it's so hard to think that I'm getting married! We live together in a house we had built for us, have an amazing 4 year old son, and have been dating for almost 6 years! Eee!

But I wanted to share some photos, courtesy of bridesmaid Cassie!

We had a fun scrapbooking station set up for the guests to all get a chance to scrapbook some photos of me and Iggy going back as far as the 2nd time we had hung out! It was a lot of fun for me to watch those who had never scrapbook before give it a shot. The book turned out amazing and I love every page in it! We ended up chosing the best page out of the book for a prize and Melanie (where I actually got the idea from) won the gift! Her page was unbelieveable!

There was a hot chocolate bar for after dessert where guests could chose their own mug or tea cup to drink out of and keep as their favor. They had cute tags on them that said "fill me with something sweet. take me home as a treat". Kelli and Bonnie helped make the tags on Friday night. We had fun toppings to go with it as well. There was: whipped cream, peppermint sticks, nutmeg, vanilla and peppermint extract, and super cute diy sticks to stir with! I never got to pick out my own mug though! And we forgot to mention the hot chocolate bar earlier in the day so people knew about it! Oops!

These are the centerpieces for the tables! They were filled with skittles and gumballs and had candy inside the mason jars! Guests got to pick these to take home as well! We were lucky enough to end up with one at the end of the party! Yay!

Kelli made this wonderful sign to go on the dessert table! We had so many tasty treats to select from! And I didnt have to have a traditional bridal shower cake after all! More photos of that will come once I get them off my  camera!
Here is a sneak peek at the photos from the scrapbook! And the people in the background are hard at work on their pages! The page closest to this photo was the winner!

And here all of the wonderful ladies who helped make the day extra special! From making decorations, setting up, cleaning up, taking photos, helping with food, and much more! I gave them all a special note when they arrived and the matching headbands! They were made from a craft friend, her Etsy shot, Cute4Sale has some fun iteams always being added!

We had recieved so many wonderful gifts that have overtaken our living room at this point! Thank you again to everyone for the gifts! I will get started on your thank you notes this weekend! One very important gift I did recieve was from my aunt. She had written a very personal message in her card and then gave me a keychain photo of me when I was 2 years old. My parents had given it to my grandmother when they were taken. Then when my grandma passed away in 2006, my aunt recieved it. Now I have to keep. She talked about never forgetting who I am even after I become a wife. I may have cried. Lol. And once again when I read the card to Iggy that night.

And that's it for the shower, for now at least. I promise to keep up on the posts! And not have thirty days or so between them!

Pin It Now!

45 days and counting.

Holy stinking moly! 45days away. Yes, that says fourty five days. I can not believe it myself. There is a lot left to still do, as you can see from the list below. But there is this strange kind of calm that has came over me in the last couple of weeks. I have not done much wedding related at all. Kelli and Cassie came over one night to work on some bridal shower and bachelorette plans, but other than that, nope, nothing. Maybe something will trigger my butt into wedding crunch time soon. September 17, 2011

It has been over a month since the last post and I feel like it was just yesterday we were goofing around with our seating chart. Ha.

Last night was Melanie's wedding. Everything was so perfect and represented Melanie wonderfully! The centerpieces were amazing. The husband cut the wood, the inlaws grew the flowers, and her sister helped assemble the terrariums. I can't believe how delicious her candied apples were. Omg. And she looked beautiful. Her photographer was beyond amazing. I am still in love with him and haven't even met him!

Now for our wedding!

We are 76 days away! That's not far at all. And our list has not started to get smaller, only I think I am adding more than I am taking away. I don't even know what to do or where to begin. I guess it's time to get  back on track instead of adding more to the guest list.

I finished our invites on Monday and then we sent our invites out on Tuesday. During this same week, we added 10 guests to our already too large of a list! I think we are right at 170 guests invited now. Our original list began with the idea of no more than 100 people. Those 70 extra guests, I don't even know who they are at this point! Strangers I suppose!

Betty sent out the bridal shower invites last week. And this past weekend Iggy's grooms shower evites went out. He has a theme for his party! And so do I. I have just ordered thank you gifts for the girls for my shower. Adorable, thank you to the wonderful friend who made them! And Betty's thank you shower gift is almost complete.

I will repost the never ending list. And see how it looks now.
